Planet X Exocet 2 SRAM Force Time Trial Bike

The Planet X Exocet 2 Force combines the super-fast Exocet 2 hi-mod carbon fibre frame with the finest precision Japanese groupset money can buy; Planet X Stealth aerobar for a narrow, fast position; and Planet X Pro Carbon wheels with tubular tyres. It's ready to race right out of the box.

We made extensive use of computational fluid dynamics in designing the Exocet 2 to cut through the air. The tubeset profiles are based on US National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) system for optimised aerodynamics. An engineering modelling technique that's as effective as wind tunnel testing, but doesn't cost thousands of quid an hour. We think you can live without pictures of guys in white coats looking at instrument panels and fans if it means you get a world-class time trial frame for less.

Timetrial riding is all about power and aerodynamics. The Exocet 2 is fully loaded with features that tick both these boxes several times over. Let's have some bullet points...

• High modulus carbon fibre is used for the whole Exocet 2 frame. Light, stiff, adaptable. Just an amazing material to construct a bicycle with.
• Press-fit BB30 bottom bracket. The stiffest BB design ever designed.
• With a flush press-fit BB there's no external bearing cups to cause air drag. To further calm the airflow we've designed a neat carbon cover over the lower cable routing. Cunning.
• Internal cable routing is an essential feature on TT bikes. Less drag. Less grime ingress. The Exocet 2's routing is a thing of beauty.
• The monster down tube continues the witness-the-stiffness design. The leading edge of the down tube is sharply shaped to slice through the air.
• The seat tube sits close to the rear tyre but there's enough room for running 23mm tyres for comfort and cornering grip if the race course dictates.
• Exquisitely executed integrated fork/down tube - gets the air flowing around the fork and over the down tube.
• Taper-steerer aerodynamic fork for low drag and better handling on twisty courses.
• Tall chain stay profiles deliver all your pedal power to the rear wheel. Stays also feature adjustable rear dropouts for tucking in the rear wheel if desired.
• Low-slung seat stays complete and incredibly stiff and responsive rear triangle.
• Aero seat post and flush seat clamp. Twin position seat post for perfecting your pedalling.
