New for 2013 the Planet X Ti Pro Road features improved handling though a re-engineered Van Nicholas made full titanium chassis, Columbus fork, Ambrosio Excellence wheels and an up to the minute high end SRAM Force spec.

Building on previous successes and pushing the envelope even further the frameset has been redesigned from the ground up to get every ounce of speed and power onto the road efficiently without losing sight of it's core objectives of comfort, speed and durability.

Frame details:
We've upsized the main tubes by 2mm, which adds 25% to the lateral stiffness of the main frame but only minimally adding to the weight of those tubes. And to save that weight and maintain the ride characteristics, we've slimmed the rear stays and added an integrated contemporary headset. Geometry remains the same, ideal for fast road use, from day long high paced rides to shorter blasts.

It's lightening fast response to power input combined with dampening of road shock makes titanium a perfect material for the ultimate road frame. Hand welded by titanium experts Van Nicholas and featuring a 10yr warranty, this is a frame you can rely on for years of high speed road enjoyment.

This is a top-end build and no corners have been cut. Carefully designed and utilising components of the highest calibre we build on the respected race winning performance of a SRAM Force drivetrain and match it perfectly with the uber special Ambrosio Excellence wheelset, Columbus Carve carbon fork and a lightweight selection of finishing kit worthy of this Rolls Royce of a bike. From the titanium railed saddle through the CNC stem and Strada bars this is truly a connoisseur's bicycle of the finest quality.

Why titanium?
Titanium combines the best characteristics of all the other frame materials. It rivals aluminium in weight, is as comfortable as steel and has a sprightly ride and superb handling that many riders swear by. We use a Ti 3-2.5 alloy- 94.5% pure titanium, 3% aluminium and 2.5% vanadium. Ti-3-2.5 balances the higher strength of some titanium alloys and ductility of commercially pure titanium to create an all round high performance material.

Developed for the aerospace industry for use in high pressure hydraulic lines it is found on virtually all new commercial and military aero planes being built in the Western World.
