The Eureka represents an excellent compromise between form and lightness, thanks to the CLS carbon design concept. Guerciotti have opted to place only the rear brake cable inside the top tube. By doing so, the elegant appearance has been preserved without compromising the weight - which is always one of the most important aspects of frame design.
The design of the seat-stays follows the same fundamental concepts of No Limit Carbon Engineering which was used extensively in the design of the Eclipse model. The Eureka is incredibly rigid with a high capacity to absorb vibrations. This creates an extremely responsive frame that remains comfortable even in the most extreme riding conditions.
Guerciotti presents a new concept, which will radically change how carbon fiber bikes are designed and manufactured: No Limit Carbon Engineering. This concept is set to revolutionize the cycle market. The 2011 range of bikes from Guerciotti has benefitted from this new approach to design and manufacturing.
Guerciotti have formed crucial partnerships with companies producing carbon fiber where functionality and reliability are crucial (aerospace and Formula 1). Guerciotti have collaborated with technical experts from outside the cycling industry to gain fresh insight into how to make the lightest bikes possible, without sacrificing performance and / or reliability. This is the basic concept behind No Limit Carbon Engineering.
The 2011 collection is the first to embrace No Limit Carbon Engineering, which includes four new technologies:
Guerciotti selects the best raw materials available, using a rigorous search and study system which ensures the highest quality materials are selected for manufacturing.
The No Limit Carbon Engineering project introduces an innovating wrapping system called Lightness Wrapped Carbon Technology where the positioning of carbon fiber skins assumes an essential role. This is of paramount importance as it gives the frame its main mechanical characteristics. The skins are superimposed so as to orientate more filaments along the stress lines. In fact, by interweaving and superimposing carbon fiber skins it is possible to modify the mechanical efficiency of the structure and of some of its parts.
With this new wrapping system it is possible to create a frame, which, aesthetically is like a monocoque design - one seamless form. The frames are completely hand made incorporating an exclusive resin tapping process. Although it's an arduous process, it's extremely methodical and the end results are more than worth it.
This studies and selects the best designs likely to increase the efficiency of the frame in crucial areas. In fact, the fundamental elements of top of the range frames are riding comfort, lightness and stiffness. The objective is to obtain the best ratio between these three elements. The particular design of the seat stays of the Eclipse and Eureka model was based on a study aimed at optimizing the comfort, lightness and stiffness elements. The ribbing inside the chain stays of the Eclipse for example, serves to convey greater resistance to compression and traction to the fuselage, which results in greater stiffness.
