On-One Carbon 29er Race Frame
The future is here... Eagerly anticipated and set to turn the 29er market on it's head the On-One Carbon 29er offers performance and features of other frames costing twice as much.
The Frame:
Weighing in at a mere 1315 grams (fully painted) the frame is lighter than most 26 inch models, let alone 29ers. We've used the tried and tested geometry of our Scandal 29er alloy hardtail and laid up a high modulus carbon design that is a dream to ride. We've also harmmered several prototypes all over the Peaks during the past year and can honestly say we're totally happy with it.
This is a premium carbon frame, gloss finished to the highest standard and offering the ultimate in big wheeled performance.
Be one of the first to own one of these beauties- the first production run is limited numbers available in 18 inch only.
Winner of the December 2010 What Mountain Bike 29er Bikes Product Test:
"The standout bike is the On-One Carbon 29er race. It looks great, weighs less than 29ers double it's price and rides brilliantly"- Bike Radar / What Mountain Bike...
Technical notes:
The Carbon RACE 29er uses a direct mount front mech which saves weight and allows for an optimum seat tube profile. However, MTB direct mount formats have been slow to standardise and new 10 speed front mech systems have become more bulky- some models can foul the frame on the lowest gear.
For best results use the same make of chainset and front mech.
The following front mechs work fine:
High Direct Mount:
Any SRAM HIGH DIRECT MOUNT, 2x10, DUAL PULL
Any Shimano HIGH DIRECT MOUNT 3x10, DUAL PULL
Low Direct Mount:
SRAM XX LDM 2x10 S3 42 TOP PULL- limited to 42T Chainsets
The following Mechs need a 1mm washer between the HDM plate and the mech:
Any SRAM HIGH DIRECT MOUNT, 3x10, DUAL PULL
The following front mechs do not fit:
Low Direct Mount:
Shimano FD-M770-10E (XT) 10 speed
Shimano FD-M660-10E (SLX) 10 speed
Any other LDM Shimano or SRAM
Chainset / BB92 compatibility
The Carbon RACE 29er frame was designed specifically to work with a new breed of double chainsets for XC competition use. It features an oversized super wide BB92 bottom bracket shell which increases stiffness and makes for optimal power transfer. However, we've found that the inner spider bolts on certain triple chainsets may foul the paint on the BB shell. The Carbon RACE 29er is recommended for use only with the following chainsets:
All Hollowtech 2 / GXP / Megaexo (24mm axle) style 2x10 and single speed chainsets
All Shimano Hollowtech 2 (24mm axle) 3x9 and 3x10 chainsets.
Note: Chainsets should be used with a BB92 bottom bracket of the same make for best fit.

Correct frame size choice can also depend on a rider’s torso and limb length.
