Nanolight Carbon Fibre Frame. With Fork and Headset

Welcome to the future of carbon fibre. Developed and patented by the R&D team at our carbon factory, Smooth-Wall(TM) is now universally recognised as the new standard in composite technology. The carbon fibre layers are smooth right through to the inside, producing a  wrinkle-free internal structure which greatly reduces the risk of resin voids, stress cracks and de-lamination.

It also makes the 2010 Nanolight Pro Carbon stronger, lighter, and up to 30% stiffer in critical stress areas, giving a confidence inspiring and agile ride that translates every ounce of effort into forward momentum.

The bike of choice for Planet X's professional racing team is a product of no compromise thinking, offering race winning performance, beautiful design and a top class finish at a previously unknown price.

Frameset supplied complete with fork and headset. Frame weight is only 1100g (fully painted- a lot of manufacturers quote unpainted weights), forks are 390g.

Note: you will need to purchase a "Planet X Carbon Fork Bung Centre Pull System" and two barrel adjusters as these are not included.

Sizing Notes

All frame size recommendations are approximate. A good fit will also depend on the correct choice of stem length, correct bike set-up for the rider and riding style.

Correct frame size choice can vary greatly with riders' torso length. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for a slightly shorter stem. If you think you are borderline between sizes, and you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for the smaller frame size. If you have shorter legs and a longer torso, go for the larger frame size to get the extra top tube length.

As the frame sizes increase, so does the length of the head tube. If you are inflexible or perhaps have a history of back problems, consider going for a larger frame size. This will increase the relative height of the handlebars making the position less “extreme”. The larger frame will also have a longer top tube, so you’ll need to compensate for this with a shorter stem.

This is a sportive geometry bike, so it has a slightly shorter top tube than the equivalent sized race geometry bike.

Had this frame for a few weeks now and have to say that i am very impressed! Light, stiff and an excellent ride! The frame also looks awsome and catches the eye of anyone passing. Overall handeling is excellent and very responsive. Frame absorbs a lot of road noise / vibration. This frame is certainly worth every penny of £700.

Hi Jeffrey, all of our products are listed including VAT. Certain non-EU countries may not have to pay VAT- contact us for details. Shipping to Malta for this frame would cost about £30.

Cheers Jon, Thats good news. I've had my SL Pro for about 7 months now and i'm very happy with it...But could be tempted by the Nano !! Do you know if any Mags are going to do a review of the Nano ? Be interesting to hear what they gotta say. DB.

Hi Dick. To be blunt yes the Nanolight does have the edge on the SL Pro. Not that there is anything wrong with the SL Pro- it is an incredible frame offering race-ready carbon performance at a really good price. However the Nanolight is the logical progression forwards into a new decade- the result of years of carbon fibre development and a completely no compromise product from start to finish. Faster, lighter and more responsive in the right areas, it is causing quite a stir...

So, are these Nanolights better than the SL Pro ?
