Paul Curran is a legend, and it's fantastic to be able to work with him at Planet X. A Commonwealth Games medalist with race wins through the 80's and '90's, Paul is now working with us, hand building wheels to give you that edge, and that knowledge that when push comes to shove, you've got the best quality product around.

It was during the 1988 Korea Olympics that Paul started to build and maintain his own and then other riders' wheels and is now respected as one of the UK's best wheel builders. Curran is a racing legend, and the wheelbuilder of choice for the pro-riders - our own Jamie Burrow chose Paul to build his superlight wheels for his win in the Maratona dles Dolomites last year.

Today Paul puts all of his racing expertise into every pair of wheels he builds. These limited edition wheels are laced with premium spokes and individually hand made to the highest standards of workmanship. Paul's 30 years of road racing experience is reflected in every wheel.

With 52mm rims, these wheels weigh just 1796g per pair, for quick acceleration and nimble handling. Because they have CNC-machined aluminium sidewalls, your brakes will still work properly in all conditions and with a polished 3k weave they look great too.

The 52mm depth makes these wheels great fast-riding all-rounders. Use them for crits, general racing, time trials, triathlon and group rides.

Both our new carbon clincher wheels are built on lightweight hubs with 6061 aluminium bodies and high-strength 7075 aluminium axles and freehub body. They turn on super-smooth Japanese-made sealed bearings - two in the front hub, and four in the rear, so they're durable and easy to rebuild.

Hubs and rims are joined by cold-drawn, double-butted bladed spokes made from Sandvik T302 stainless steel. Twenty spokes up front is the optimum balance between aerodynamics and strength, while 24 spokes in the rear means these wheels won't let you down. No odd spoke designs here either - we've used standard J-head spokes so you can get a replacement anywhere without taking out a second mortgage.
