Busy morning... after qualifying for the Scratch I had to get my self ready for the Team Sprint.
Team GB consisted of Man 1: Dave Le Grys (Legro), Man 2: Iver Reid, and my riding last man. We were in the final heat against the Australians.
After a false start we got away clean and Legro put down an 18.88sec opening lap. It was like hanging on the back on a motor bike... Iver went through and held the pace leaving me to complete the final lap to stop the clock with 49.71sec. The Australians posted a 48.13sec, a new World Record.
That put us in 4th place just behind the French who had ridden 0.5sec quicker than us. Into the ride off for Bronze. An hour to rest and get ready to do it all again.
In the Final we knew we had to up our game to beat the French... can't come back to mud island having been beaten but the French...
We went out and posted a 49.69sec beating the French to the Bronze by 0.23sec! Job done.
The Aussies went on the break the World Record again in the final posting a 47.845sec (56.43km/h)
Now to recover for the Scratch race final tonight.
