Great to read items that cover the important issues - your points in the May issue of TT - leg shaving, effect of partners on racing men, etc. - these all very relevant. You must have realised by now that Cycling Weakly would not dare discuss these matters as they would probably loose 90% of their subscibers. Instead of covering the UK and European sportive scene - how many true racing men do you know who can afford to go abroad - there's always essential kit/equipment to be bought - they should be promoting local club racing scene. Get them out on the true endurance events - the Sunday Club run - 60 miles steady "evens" to the cafe, Tea/Coffee/Cakes, then 60 mile "burn - up" home - learning those essential skills - Sitting- in , playing deaf (ignoring the request to take turns at the front), half-wheeling up the hills, not stopping if the "newies" get dropped (you don'y know them anyway, their own fault if they hav'ent got spare tubes !) - a few weeks of this will show if they have what it takes (and if not watch the local papers for cheap bikes (we always need more Winter bikes !). Keep up the good work. Marco (Litespeed Super Record/SL Pro Carbon Dura Ace/Ribble Ultegra WB/Viper Shimano XTR MTB = 10,000 miles/year + 3 x Motor bikes - this is what 40 years sitting between 2 wheels gives you !! (and a sore ar*e on occassion !!!!!!!!!!!!!).
